About Our Business
The Learning Center (TLC) Preschool is a company dedicated
to providing the best care for your children. TLC is owned by
Andrew and Leigh Bunten of Bryant. Drew devotes one
hundred percent of his time to the daily management of TLC.
He holds a degree in education from the University of Central
Arkansas. Drew served as an educator in the Pulaski County
School District for eight years. In 1984 the Buntens needed
alternative care for their oldest daughter Laura. When they
began searching for a program that would accommodate the
needs of their child, they were not satisfied with what was
offered so they decided to open their own center. Leigh, in
addition to her input at TLC, serves with various charitable
organizations which includes Habitat for Humanity. The
Buntens have three children, Jas and Laura who are both
employed by TLC, and Sarah, a student at the University of
Arkansas.
While it is the belief of TLC that mother is best, we realize that
the cost of living today often requires two incomes for the family
and alternative care for the children. TLC strives to provide a
place for these children where they can grow and develop at
their own pace. TLC is committed to serving the individual
needs of the children and just as it's initials state offer them
Tender Loving Care.
TLC is licensed by the state of Arkansas. The program of TLC
is based on Drew's experience as a teacher, education at UCA,
and personal experience with their own children. At TLC,
children are surrounded with a variety of "play" activities that
provide unlimited opportunities to "learn" at their own pace.
Each day follows a set routine that offers the child a sense of
security in knowing what to expect. Manipulative play includes
various puzzles, beads, and peg boards which teach color,
shape, letter, and color recognition and develops hand-eye
coordination, premath, prewriting and prereading skills. Music
allows the children time to learn rhythms and coordination and
also develop language skills.
In general, we will offer to a child a balance of tender, loving
care with a structural environment to insure your child a safe
and happy time with us.
